I've been going to this steak and shake for over 30 year's but I won't be back after today. When I started to drink my milk shake it all most puked. There was some nasty looking black thing sitting right on top of the cherry when I took it to the manager he simply said that they could make me another one. I don't think so after they tried to serve me something like that. I couldn't even eat the burger and said you can take it back too. They didn't even apologize or offer a refund. EAT THERE AT YOUR OWN RISK. I wish that I had taken a picture.

Love this Steak n Shake. They always have great hamburgers, fries and milkshakes. Service is always good too.

Came in around 5pm 8/13/11 right before going to the state fair fast service. Grill cooks are great at what they do. Store was clean. Great place to take ur family keep up the great work.

My Husband and myself ate at your restaurant 9/6/08 @ approx. 6-6:30. As always the meal of Great. I was setting in a spot where I had a view of the kitchen.

1. The women that was putting the sandwich together had no cap or net on her head. Her hair was a mess, hanging over the over her work space with unkempt hair hanging of the food.

2. The next was a man. Hair was short, but no cap or net. An He was handling spaghetti noodles with his bare hands. When we were checking out I mentioned this to the cashier, her response was " I understand this is ok to handle spaghetti noodles with bare hands as long as you wash your hands." How do I know if this person washed there hands?

What happened to serving utensils?

3. The young man busing tables had clean and dirty in the same part of cart. On the top of the cart were dirty dishes then a bucket of wrapped silverware, and another little bucket that had the placemats in it. He cleans a table then with those same hands handle the clean wrapped silverware. Something wrong with this picture.



I BELIEVE THAT RUBBER GLOVES SHOULD BE USED IN HANDLING FOOD WITH YOUR HANDS.



I ALSO THINK UTENSILS SHOULD BE USED WHEN NOT WHERING GLOVES.



Now for the GOOD. Food Good, Waitress were neat and there hair was pulled back.



I would like to see all of staff well groomed. And, maintain sanitary conditions at all times.



I will go back to Wabash avenue, Steak and Shake but if they don't clean up there act, I will stop eating in your Restaurant
