The Bureau of Bridges & Structures is a bureau of the Illinois Department of Transportation s division of highways. The bureau is managed by an appointed chief and organized into bridge planning, bridge design, structural services, and services development sections. It additionally has a bridge inspection group. The bureau provides digital notifications for bridge repairs, including an e-mail subscription list. It also provides several documents for IDOT s approved bridge specifications, memorandums, guides and examples. The Bureau of Bridges & Structures is located in Springfield, Ill.
