Not very impressed with my daughters instructor, Hillary. I have 15 years of classical ballet under my belt, and bunions to prove it, after eleven years of instruction, attained a scholarship into visual and performance arts school majoring in ballet for four years, and I can tell you her instructor is not qualified to teach young children...she rolls her eyes impatiently at students trying to learn (3-5 year old students), singles out students, making them cry and has never offered support or feedback. My daughter was so traumatized that this instructor chastised a younger student in front of the class and parents that she has a lack of interest in ballet and a lack of interest in this instructor. Her class goes as follows, the children go in, they do stretches, then a couple steps of ballet as a whole, one step each with the instructor (as she roles her eyes at inexperienced children 3-5 years of age) she then tells the kids "it's tap time" and shuffles them out of the room, the students run to their parents to remove their ballet shoes and put on taps shoes, they then proceed into the class to do 4 or 5 shuffles for 10-15 minutes and get a sucker from the instructor. It's basically as torturous and just as rude as a trip into a Walmart store. My daughter has learned very little, in fact she learns more from watching me but I wanted her to gain the experience in a class setting, this was not at all what I received as a child, my instructors were strict but they were respectful, confident, and professional. Not getting this at Koenig at all and I do not want my daughter to lose interest in such a beneficial disciplinary art that is both graceful and beautiful, that has given me grace, strength and confidence throughout my years. If you are wanting your child to learn a type of childish, meaningless dance from a caddie instructor then this is the place for you. It certainly doesn't offer real ballet instructors nor ballet instructions. Not for my daughter, we will be removing her to find a more professional ballet studio.

My daughter has danced at Koenig for many years. We love the teachers there because they are quality instructors and love dancing and the kids. They create an atmosphere of enthusiasm about dance, to the point my multi-sport playing son is drawn into taking dance! The studio continues to grow with its success and they are turning out incredible dancers.
