I've been hesitant to post about this because I feel like a bad fur mommy for not listening to my gut, but I feel like i need to say something. A couple months ago my olivia had to have her leg removed at the hip. she only had about 2/3rds of a leg there to start with so it wasn't an issue. the issue was i went in because she started leaking clear fluid from a tiny hole on that leg. she was obviously in some discomfort. The vet on duty did not even really look at her leg, nor palpate it. All he did was watched how she walked, gave her an antibiotic shot, and sent us on our way. over the weekend it went from bad to worse. her bone started poking out of the hole, and it would have only gotten worse. If i hadn't of gone there first, her leg would have gotten taken care of quicker and she wouldnt have been in pain for that long. very upsetting

My mother took all 4 of her small dogs, and I've taken all my small and big dogs there. And one time I had to have a pet put down and they were very kind and thoughtful.

We started going to this Vet group when our dog was not getting under the care of a different vet. They immediately diagnosed and treated the problem. We have been going to them ever since. They are caring, courteous and professional. They call quickly with results and send reminders when it is time for annual visits for immunizations. I would not go to any other vet even though they are a distance from our house. I would highly recommend them.

We have FIVE pets that we were bringing to this vet. We will no longer use them after they did a horrible job grooming our dogs. They also wanted to give unnecessary treatments. The front desk staff is rude but we tolerated them because we liked one of the vets. After getting other vets there we decided it is better not to keep going and ringing up tons of bills .

pet owners beware.

my staffordshire pit bull terrier had been on a low dose steroid treatment for a few years at this point. recently I called in to refill his prescription and they refused because he hadn't been in for a year or so. so I bring him in, they look him over and do a basic blood test to check his liver and kidneys. exactly a week after he was there he developed a very bad cough and was obviously not feeling well. turns out he got kennal cough (something he has never had untill this point) which was odd because he was only there for maby 30 minutes. I called SVC and explained his symptoms and they gave me some meds without having to bring him in a second time. a week later my other dog got sick and they refused to provide medication for him untill we brought him in, because he hadn't been there since 2006. I still haven't been able to figure out how my dog magically got kennal cough after being there for such a short time. either they gave it to him on purpose or they have some serious lack of sanitation going on there. not only that but the meds they gave me were way over priced. I was able to purchase the same meds on line for half what they charged me. pet owners beware.

If you love your cat, DO NOT L...

If you love your cat, DO NOT LEAVE THEM at the Spanaway Veterinary Clinic Cat Condos. In the past, the clinic took care of my pets and there was never a problem, but last month I left my very healthy cat in the care of this clinic while I went to Europe and he got very sick with an upper respitory infection. That is not the worst part, please read on. When I went to pick my cat up, they took the cat carrier from me and had me pay the bill. They then handed me the cat carrier with my cat inside.

When I looked inside and he looked a bit strange, but I assumed that he was a bit rattled from being put in the carrier. I drove home and let him out & discovered that his eyes were watering, he was wheezing, his nose was running and he could barely stand! When I called Spanaway Veterinary Clinic, the office manager told me that according to his chart, they had been watching him for 2 days but had not even told me that he was sick when I picked him up. They just took my money, shoved him in the carrier and sent me on my way with a very sick cat.

To make a long story short, I immediatly took my poor cat to his regular vet (Banfield at PetsMart on South Hill) where he was given excellent care. Spanaway Veterinary Clinic never even called me back, offered to pay his vet bill or checked to see how he was. Do not go there!!
