Taking karate lessons at the United Studios of Self Defense has been a fantastic experience for my 6-year old son. It has taught him respect, patience and has increased his self-confidence. Sensei Orren is the best around. Were so grateful to have stumbled upon this karate studio. There are hundreds of karate studios in town but if you live in Plano, Frisco or Southlake I think youd be truly pleased with the outcome for your children or yourself if you enroll them at USSD. Its a clean facility and Orren is professional and trustworthy and Ive never seen anyone better with little kids. We give it 5-stars, hands down!

This organization is hands down the best I've ever encountered. They personalize all of the training to fit the needs of each student and at their own pace so it never feels like a competition. They truly value the integrity of belt ranking by making the students ACTUALLY earn them as opposed to giving them away. At USSD you won?t find 9-10 year old Black Belts like other water downed martial arts schools.I am very fortunate to train along with the rest of my family. I would highly recommend this studio and any of the 200 they have nationwide to anyone serious about quality martial arts training.Thank you USSD!!

I was so thrilled when I found out a USSD studio was close to us! I have friends in other states that HIGHLY recommended them. The Southlake location is a drive for us (from Arlington), but very well worth the time! There are other "studios" closer to home but I would not be as pleased, nor would my son be learning the same principles and values. Sensei Orren is amazing! He works great with the kids and has our complete admiration. He is truly devoted & well educated in what he teaches. I encourage you if you are looking for a studio to call him up & just go check it out.
