General Info
After graduating from the University of North Dakota, Dr. Ormseth spent two years in the Peace Corps teaching math, science and English in Lesotho. In 1988, he entered medical school at Tulane University School of Medicine and received an M.D. in 1992. At Tulane, he was awarded membership in Alpha Omega Alpha, the medical honor society. He then completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at the Madigan Army Medical Center. After serving as a staff internist at Raymond W. Bliss Army Health Center from 1995-1997, he began a fellowship in gastroenterology at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center. After his fellowship ended in 2000, Dr. Ormseth returned to the Madigan Army Medical Center as a staff gastroenterologist. Three years later, he came to the Gastroenterology Center of the MidSouth, now Gastro One, to practice. He was certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine in 1997 and in gastroenterology in 2000. He has been recertified in gastroenterology.
