Rooted in a strong liberal arts tradition, Morningside prepares students to be flexible in thought, open in attitude, and confident in themselves. Founded in 1894 by the Methodist Episcopal Church, Morningside College is a private, four-year, co-educational institution affiliated with the United Methodist Church. The college seeks students, faculty and staff representing diverse social, cultural, ethnic, racial and national backgrounds. The college enrolls more than 1,200 full-time students. Although the majority of students hail from Iowa and Nebraska, Morningside draws students from more than 20 states and several foreign countries. With a 17 to 1 student-faculty ratio, students are assured of a concentrated, high-quality education. The people of Morningside care about more than just a student's academic progress. Career placement is a strong measure of the college's effectiveness.
