I went expecting a relaxing experience for my prenatal massage, but that's not what I received. I am in more pain now then what I went in with. I don't normally write reviews, but I feel I should for those pregnant ladies looking for a prenatal massage. This is not the place! I was greeted by no one for my first visit; only greeted by a sign on the desk that read "a session was underway & if I needed to make an appointment to leave my number"; what? I have been to a number of massage centers & I know there is always paperwork for first time clients, so I guess I expected someone to be there to greet me with that paperwork prior to my appointment, but no one! Not only that my therapist ( I think the owner) finally shows up about 10 mintues after my appointment was to start, with no apologies, just ask how far along I was & handed me a paper to fill out...it was very general; 1 sheet paper asking my name, phone, basic questions about any concerns or issues & any health problems; nothing like how far along are you, what type of pressure do you prefer, are there areas you prefer not to be touched ect (all questions I have been asked at all other places). Then the therapist comes back after I fill out the paperwork to take me back to a room & I tell her I need to go put money in the meter again (because she was late) no apologies again only that she was worried about her vehicle when she parked too & that she hadn't seen the meter police..what? So ok she then takes me back to the room its about 80+ outside & about that in the rooms...being pregnant this was not pleasant at all! The room was already set up for me & she had the signature prone pregnancy pillow (the one with a hole for your belly). First, if you haven't done your reseach on this do; if you are in your 2nd or 3rd trimester do not lay in the prone position it puts pressure on you uterine wall and baby! Not good and my first sign I knew she didn't really know how to perform a proper prenatal massage. So then I had to ask to lay on my side (the best position for a pregnant woman). I was given two pillows; normally 6-8 are used to position a pregnant woman to align, support, and protect her lax joints. She left the room, I got undress & layed under a heavy hot blanket & sheet...ghuh! Then I waited for it seemed like 10 minutes before she was back. I then had to ask for more pillows & was given only two more to place myself. I was not properly positioned by my therapist, at all! She then asked me if I had problem areas & I told her & I said I'd rather not have my legs worked on because I didn't want to go into labor; she asked where I heard that & I said I am a PTA and I know from working with my own patients what the do's and don't's are; look it up! So she ask then "you don't want me to work on your feet then?" NO.....if you don't know this already pregnant woman have points in their feet and legs that can cause release of blood clots, induce labor, etc if there is too much pressure applied; my therapist had no clue! I also told her I didn't want deep pressure, but that is exactly what I got even after I asked several times that I needed her to lighten up because I was in pain from her pressure. I am in so much more pain now....I now have pain along my left side too! For the last 3 days I have barely been able to lye down on my sides without crying, I can't sleep and I am unable to do what I once was. She worked my ribs (my painful area) scapular areas, armpit, low back with deep pressure & with some nicer presure at points thru my neck & shoulders; nothing to my arms or hands for less than an hour ( which it was supposed to be). It was torcherous to say the least. Besides the pregancy stuff it was the worst massage I've had! Learn from my mistake & even though they say they have prenatal massage, a prenatal pillow, doesn't mean they are qualified! Ask questions before, don't be afraid to ask if they have additional training to do a prenatal massage! I should have walked
