      Peter DeJong, MD, is a board-certified family and sports medicine physician with Providence Medical Group-Sherwood. His goal in both disciplines, he says, is “to use my skills and training to help people stay as healthy as possible for as long as possible.” He emphasizes medication-free treatments, such as nutrition and exercise prescriptions, and works closely with patients to help them set realistic goals and take ownership of their health. Dr. DeJong earned his medical degree at the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at Saint Mark’s Family Medicine in Salt Lake City, Utah, and his fellowship in sports medicine at the University of California San Francisco.
