TWO pet problems with this place. One they operated for a hernia due to a lump in our dogs belly. They left a tube for water to drain. No answer as to WHY her belly needed to be drain or why liquid was seeping out. Cost us 400 dollars and our pet passed away 4 days later due to drowning in the fluids when exhausted from sitting up 24 hours a day. The said there was nothing they could do then WHY even do the operation ? Next dog we had was 100 lb lab that was very old and could no longer walk without falling over. After about a month she could no longer walk at all due to her hind leg and she would mess herself in her bed daily. Both of us being old we could no longer carry outside to go. She barely had any energy to wag her tail and would look at us with a tired face. These people told us that she could be put to sleep only if the doctor determined that it was for her best welfare. Sounds more like BOTH cases were for the CVH's welfare and not our pets.

A local favorite of mine

I have used this clinic a number of times. Once for the gelding of a miniature horse and once for a vet check on a toy dog. On both occassions the staff was very nice, professional, and helpful. Both experiences turned out to be a very good choice on my part not only for the price of services but for the care my animals received.

would not recommend their services and get a correct price quote

I brought in a horse to be castrated by the Conover Veterinary in Sequin, TX & called in advance for a price quote. I was told it would cost $105.00 for the castration. I was fine with the price quote because a year prior, I had one of my other horses done and the price was $95.00. So I brought the horse in and paid $100.00 down. I was told when the procedure was done, they would call and I could pick up the horse. That afternoon, we got the call to come pick up the horse. When my wife went in to pay the remaining bill she was told the total price was now $191.00. When questioned about the difference of the original price quote, she was told that the $105.00 quote did not include any medicines, penicillin or the extraction of his wolf teeth. When questioned as to the teeth extraction and why was I not called, they said they commonly do it when the horse is put under for the castration. My wife and I both called several times and Dr. Conover never returned our calls to talk about the difference in the price and why his teeth were removed without permission.
