General Info

All things metaphysical - a subscription-based library open to the public for browsing. Our collection of books and other media supports the effort to understand individual, personal development, and social evolvement. The range of subjects is too extensive to list here; it includes the interests of the various librarians over the library's forty-year history. Best to visit our website for the booklist, and hours of operation. We also have small discussion groups and author readings. All things metaphysical - a subscription-based library open to the public for browsing. You should absolutely go here....

You should absolutely go here. It's not for everyone - their marketing is abysmal. They have no sense of how to promote the "sizzle". It's very hard to find, down a warren of corridors, in the basement, and the only sign is a sign out on the sidewalk when they are open. It is to the immediate west of Great Harvest Bread Company, and also next to Bop Street Records - a glass door. They have a F A N T A S T I C collection of the kinds of books you like - secret societies, energy work, chakra and breath work, government coverups, first-person UFO abduction stories, scholarly work on ancient archeological sites that show that human society is tens of thousands of years old, new research on mind-meld technlogies, NLP, Rudolf Steiner, etc. More than anyone can possibly handle in one lifetime. They are only open afternoons, but I think there are some evening programs too.

You'll love it. You have to pay $35 and join if you want to take out books, but anyone can sit and read.
