Mercer Middle School provides academic and recreational programs for students in grades six through eight. The school is governed by Seattle Public Schools, which enrolls more than 45,800 students in over 90 elementary, middle, high and alternative schools. The district s schools offer classes in English, math, science, social studies and language arts. Its schools provide several sports activities, such as volleyball, basketball, baseball, soccer, wrestling, tennis, cross-country, and track and field. The district s schools curricula also include music, performing arts, drama and world languages. Its schools libraries house a collection of periodicals, dictionaries and books. The district s schools additionally offer the English Language Learners program.
