I appreciated the time for the explanation of problems discovered when the transmission was disassembled and presentation of the alternatives to achieve the use that we can afford at this time. The opinion and expertise of the owner and technician are very valuable when the topic is an automatic transmission

I just read the review above about the Suburban and I totally agree. I took my Honda Odyssey to Kings three weeks ago. Prior to calling Kings I had the van checked out at Honda of Seattle. Honda told me my transmission was shot and I needed a new one. I questioned them as to prices and options. I got a bid of 4300.00 to remove and replace the transmission with a new one. I asked if they could rebuild or repair mine and was told that they didn't do that type of work. So I called Kings and gave the a description of what my van's problem. Mark the manager told me that they did both replacements with new units (transmissions) or they could rebuild mine. But he also said before we jump into ether of those options let them have a half a day and check my vehicle out at no cost to me. Thank goodness I let them check. It turned out that one of the solenoids outside the transmission had gone bad. They replaced the solenoid at the cost of 325.00 parts and labor.Now my van works great.

This is a great shop with a group of experts who know transmissions inside and out. They give you a free diagnostic and once they figure out the problem you will get a call back with an rough estimate. If you decide to go ahead with the work the transmission gets removed from the car and an exact price to solve the problem is presented. No bait and switch. You know exactly what it will take. Repairs were made quickly and I was with out my Suburban for only two days. I got a three year nation wide warranty. These guys took the fear out of a major repair. I hope I never have another transmission problem but if I do I know that Kings is where I will go. They are located north of the west Seattle Bridge on 4th Ave S. Call them and ask for Mark.... I am a single woman living in the west Seattle area.Last fall I had a problem with my 1999 Honda Accord. I knew that no matter who I brought my car to being a woman I was going to get taken. I called Kings Transmission in the SODO area of Seattle only because of their location. But I am so glad I did. I was helped by Ken who took his time to explain each step to me and why theydid the steps they did. I left me car with them in the morning and it was done by one pm, I was back on the road with a very cheap fix. Turned out that the problem wasn't inside the transmission but an electric part on the transmission case that controlled the shifts. I should be able to tell you what that part was but I didn't keep the notes I took when talking to Ken. I believe that if you need an honest opinion you can call the guys that work at this shop. I hope I never need them again, but if I do I know exactly where I am heading. Thanks guys.

I had a chance to have my car worked on by Kings Transmission in Seattle. They were honest and did just what they said. I believe I got a fair price for the work done. I also got a 3 year warranty that is nation wide.
