NOW is the largest, most comprehensive feminist advocacy group in the US. Our purpose is to take action to bring women into full participation in society - sharing equal rights, responsibilities and opportunities with men, while living free from discrimination. We educated the public and media about the status of and threats to women's rights; organize rallies, protests, demonstrations and ,arches of all sizes; protest businesses that mistreat women and people of color; lobby for and write laws that promote full equality for women; support and bear witness for local women in civil and criminal hearings; support local homeless women and female inmates in County Jail; initiate and support lawsuits against violators of women's rights; demand fair and unbiased courts and judicial nominations; and work in coalition with progressive allies.
