General Info
The Hidden Peak Teahouse was founded on the principle that "a simple cup of tea" can change your day. For thousands of years humans have relied on this benevolent little leaf for its ability to give us fresh perspective. Accepting the challenges of the small business in the modern marketplace, combined with the fact that the country we live in is not historically a "tea culture," we decided to go for it and give our community something special. The lighting in the space is ambient and every setting is unique. Our tea garden patio welcomes with its burbling fountain and swaying pygmy date palms. Some experience a recognition of clarity and intention when entering due to the integrity of a dedicated tea space. No lattes, alcohol, speed, haste, nor a population habituated to vacating the very space they occupy through their electronic devices. We've combed estate sales, auction houses, and private dealers for an interesting array of ambient decor, mostly antique, mostly asian, to outfit the space. The sounds you hear over the speakers come exclusively from an in-house collection of vintage vinyl - unless there is a live musician playing. We also provide shelves full of books and games for your entertainment. HiddenPeak945.jpg The kitchen is stocked daily with fresh, organic, life-positive food. Dumplings and steam-buns mingle with hummus/cracker plates and cashew cheese pizzas - and the desserts are certainly to live for! People actually meet, share, talk, drink, read, play - without giving priority to a machine over the living, breathing human in front of them.
