Buy Allstate Insurance, just don't buy it from Trent Ferguson. I was with Allstate for 20 years and made the mistake of not bidding out my business. Allstate (the Company) had always been excellent to work with and I was extremely satisfied. Then I decided to see what other companies charge for the same coverage and was shocked to find that my premiums were double those of Allstates competitors. Only after I called Trent, to give him a chance to retain my business, did I find that he had never reviewed my rates to make sure I was not being overcharged or if he had he wasn't going to tell me. Trent was kind enough to give me another quote, and the reward for 20 years of loyalty were rates that were still several hundred dollars higher than the next highest competitor.

I made my decision to leave Allstate and called Trent personally. I fibbed, and told Trent that I was staying with Allstate, but not with his agency. Trent, bless his heart, was more concerned that Allstate would let another agent sell me insurance than losing me as a client. In my research I had read that "Agents are not your friends," Trent is proof of that adage. Insurance is a numbers game, not dollars, but the number of clients an agent can signup. The more clients the higher their commission. I was just another number easy come, easy go.

Lesson's learned: 1) your agent is not your friend. 2) check your premiums rates each billing cycle and question any increase. 3) insurance companies don't like people who change insurance often, its called churning, so make your selection carefully and plan on staying 5 years. 4) read your policy to make sure your honorable agent sold you what you wanted and nothing else. 5) Don't use Trent Ferguson's agency.
