- Dental ExaminationIt is recommended that children receive their first oral evaluation within six months of the eruption of their first tooth, and no later than their first birthday. During the first visit, we compile a medical and dental history, perform a thorough oral exam, assess your child’s risk of dental disease, and determine a course of action to reduce risk of dental problems.
- Fluoride TreatmentFluoride is an element that helps prevent tooth decay. Most communities in Northern Idaho don’t have fluoridated water, which means it is important your child receive fluoride treatments at the dentist’s office, to help strengthen teeth. We will work with you to determine the best fluoride dosage and regimen for your child.
- Dental SealantsYes! Your child’s permanent back teeth are ridged on top, meaning it is difficult to clean them thoroughly. Therefore, these teeth are susceptible to plaque, leading to decay. Sealants are caps made of an acrylic-like material which blocks food and bacteria from getting into the grooves.

- OrthodonticsOur dentist, Dr. John, opened Pediatric Dental Center of North Idaho’s second location in Sandpoint, ID in 2007, so we can provide excellent care to more children in the area. At this office, we provide the same quality of care established in 1978 when our first location in Coeur d’Alene, ID opened. Our professional, compassionate team offers children video games, movies and TV to keep them comfortable and entertained while we provide the highest quality of dental treatment. Your child will leave his or her appointment smiling. We offer laser dentistry, sedation dentistry, hospital dentistry, minimally invasive dentistry, orthodontics, and more to help your child have great dental health and a beautiful smile.
- BracesWe work hard to detect any developing orthodontic problems in developing children. When caught early, we can often prevent a child from needing future complete orthodontic treatment. We have tools at our disposal to solve many orthodontic problems, but we also provide referrals for children who need complete braces.
