- FencingThe rehabilitated main trail was renamed the Phil Arnold Trail in honor of a former city employee who was an ardent advocate of urban trails. We realigned and repaired existing trails, decommissioned social trails, and constructed and surfaced new benched trail sections. We also patched asphalt paths, built box steps, improved drainage, added rolling dips, installed split-rail fencing, and planted drought-tolerant, high-habitat value shrubs and native plants.

- Retaining WallsOn this project, Yerba Buena’s team demolished a timber retaining wall and replaced it with approximately 1,900 feet of new wall of drilled-in-place steel soldier beams and timber lagging.
- WalkwaysYerba Buena repaired and replaced deteriorated concrete stairs and walkways, installed new overlooks, replaced handrails; added pathway lighting; and restored a historic stone retaining wall. We repaired landslides; installed a new storm drainage system; improved irrigation; installed a cobbled swale; planted 8,000 donated plants; and added wildflower and native grass seed to help restore the historic gardens.
- Irrigation SystemsWe removed 13 trees and all the vegetation and debris dumped on the site during years of neglect. Then we regraded, built concrete footings for the sign letters, installed an irrigation system, installed electrical conduit for uplighting the sign letters at night, and erected green vinyl coated chain link fence. We planted 22 trees and shrubs, and hydroseeded the meadow with California native wildflowers.
