- Criminal Defense“I was referred to the Damiani Law Group by a top criminal defense attorney in southern California when he could no longer represent me due to a conflict of interest. I had been charged with two felonies by the District Attorney, was named in a civil suit by the San Diego City Attorney and was a witness in a related federal case. There were already at least a dozen boxes of discovery when the first attorney released me, so I was not happy about starting over with someone new who had to start from the beginning on complex cases that were moving ahead quickly. As it turned out, I had nothing to worry about. Lisa Damiani was up to speed in no time and throughout the cases was able to recall facts better than I could. The bottom line was that she prevailed in every issue that I faced, but the unexpected surprise was how easy Lisa was to work with. I had experienced hiring a top attorney for another issue and after paying the retainer was referred to a secretary and hardly ever talked to him again. I have been billed for the time it took to mail a monthly statement to me. I filed a complaint with the Bar Association on an attorney who did not return phone calls. My opinion of attorneys in general was not that high. Very capable assistants were used in limited aspects of my criminal case, but all of their work was reviewed and personally followed up on by Lisa. When I came into the office for status updates my meetings were with Lisa. When I left a message or sent an email I would get a response the same day unless she was in court all day. When things came up that were time-sensitive I even had Lisa’s mobile number to be able to make contact directly. What other attorney does that? In the end I felt very fortunate to have been referred to the Damiani Law Group. Being represented by Lisa Damiani allowed me to go on with my daily life with confidence that my legal issues were being handled.” -Sharon Wilkinson

- FraudI engaged Lisa Damiani very shortly after I received a subpoena from the US Attorney’s Office and a call from the FBI. I was the target of a Federal investigation involving securities and wire fraud. At first, I was extremely lost and confused. I didn’t know how to engage or even look for the proper attorney. My good friends had local recommendations and after meeting with one, he directed me to Lisa. I contacted her as I left his office and we promptly set up an appointment for the next day at her office.

- MisdemeanorsIn criminal cases where the charge is a misdemeanor or felony, if the defendant cannot afford a lawyer, the court will appoint one without cost to the defendant. In civil cases, if a party cannot afford a lawyer, they have to represent themselves. There is no right to a court-appointed lawyer in an infraction case.

- Employment LitigationI would absolutely recommend the Damiani Law Group to anyone seeking guidance in an employment dispute. Lisa is tough but personable, and I am so thankful that I had her in my corner when I found myself in a difficult situation.”
- Severance AgreementWhen my Mother was let go from her job of 20 years, she was hurt, scared and felt very alone. Not only had she lost her purpose in life, but as a single senior woman, she now had no source of income. Her former employer gave her no advance notice of her dismissal and offered a very small severance package which she could not afford to decline. As the clock was ticking on the expiration of her severance offer, we reached out to Lisa to see if we had any recourse. Lisa immediately went into action and in the end we were able to get my Mom more than quadruple the original severance offered. For a single senior woman, now unemployed, this was a huge relief. This additional money allowed my Mom to transition much easier into retirement on her own terms. I cannot thank Lisa and her staff enough for allowing us to get my Mom the severance that she deserved.”
