All my expectations about my auto repairs have always been met or exceeded. I have had all sorts of work accomplished at Gene Brown to my numerous vehicles through the years and have always been thoroughly satisfied with the end product. Very impressed. I will be using them from now own for all my car needs. The owner Ron took the time to explain what was wrong with my car and didn’t try to add things I really didn’t need like some shops will do. They even ordered the parts and was able to get my car back to me within days. I am very pleased with their service!!

I took my 2006 Expedition to Gene Brown Transmission on Grissom for transmission rebuild and they really took care of me. They kept me updated on everything and they were very reasonable. I felt they were very honest and real experts. I would recommend them for any vehicle maintenance/repairs.

Had my 2015 F-250 diesel lifted here, billstein dual stabilizer installed and billstein shocks all the way around. 2008 corvette emission sensor installed, brake rotors, and pads installed. 2009 Grand jeep cherokee differential fluid, brake rotors and pads installed. We were having shifting problems and air conditioning problems with our '96 S10 Chevrolet. We were referred to Gene Brown Transmission and took our vehicle in for an assessment and estimate. The quote was reasonable so we proceeded with the repairs. When we picked up the truck, the shifting was smooth, no more rattles, and the AC was freezing us out. the san pedro location was a lifesaver on our last family vacation. the transmission in our late 90s 1 ton van started giving out about 18 hrs into our drive from WA to san antonio. we were stuck in wichita then had to baby it down to san antonio. the next day my husband took it into gene brown's. they gave him a price and they stuck to it. it was gone. there wasnt even anything left to rebuild. chris ended up sending to calif for a trans that he could rebuild as there were only 5 or so avail in all of tx and none we could afford. his crew worked overtime to get our only transportation back to us before we had to leave to drive home. we left the morning after we got it back. the only difference in price was due to replacing another piece of the puzzle. it was about 50 bucks. no charge for shipping the trans from CA, the extra hours after it arrived to have it rebuilt in time, or for replacing the extra part. chris was very candid and understanding. he made a promise to have it back to us in time for us to leave, and he did. we put nearly 2300 miles on the new trans with no "break in" period. will be taking it in next year on our next vacation for a "check up". thanks for saving our vacation and getting us back home to WA!!!

I took my 1991 ford E-350 van with the 7.3 diesel engine in to the San Pedro ave location. While we (me and my family) were on vacation to see my in-laws in San Antonio, I lost reverse, o.d. and eventually 3rd. The problems started in Kansas, Well I met with Chris and explained I needed to be back on the road in 10 days, as I live in Washington State. The experience started out very stressful, having my entire family at the mercy of a "mechanic" 2800 miles from home, but it ended out to be great. They have terrific work ethics and always called me for any little set back. Fair and honest is their goal. 2 yrs. later my van is still hauling my six children around, looking forward to seeing Chris next year to have a follow up THANK YOU!!!!!!

I'm sure a good deal of these reviews are fake. I've had Gene Brown service 2 cars of mine. An Eclipse and a Volkswagen. On the Eclipse, they rebuilt the transmission, and it died on me 2 months later. On the Volkswagen, they replaced the transmission, 2 months later it died. Also, in being returned my car my hood was dented in. I brought this up and they said I brought it in dented. Definitely not the case. Will never go here again!

Gene Browns Transmission on Grissom has been nothing less than a remarkable experience. I'm very pleased with my experience at Gene Browns AABCO Transmissions, Grissom Rd.!! I've been in S.A. for half a year.New to the city I searched for a reputable auto shop. Customer Service at Gene Brown's was top-of-the-line!: Prompt/Friendly service each time both in person and by phone. My Dodge Durango was in need of a rebuilt Trans, new computer, catalytic converter and muffler, crank sensor. Both Ron and Garrett explained all work to be done thoroughly and w/ patience when I had more questions. My search is over-I've found my new auto shop! :) I'M JUST LOVING SAN ANTONIO!!!

I first thought Gene Brown was just a transmission place. It's not. It's a full service auto company. I've taken my Ford F150 and our mini van there for tune-ups, oil changes, and even had some major work done to my truck. The Manager and staff are very honest and never charge more than what they tell you. They will not do the work without telling you the cost first. I work in a business where trust, and integrity is extremely important. Gene Brown displays these traits consistently and I personally would not take our vehicles anyplace else. The Manager, Mr. Ron Gutierrez will take care of you and your families vehicle needs.

took my Z06 corvette to put a short throw shifter on it and to do a tune up, since ive gotten it back it runs like brand new and they did it all for a very good price. The owner Ron Gutierrez was honest, respectful and very informative. Thank you Gene brown transmission!!!!

I took my F150 in for a transmission shudder, the tech diagnosed the problem as a engine misfire and told me all I needed was a tune up, I let gene brown repair my truck and it is like new, no more shudder and I am even getting better gas mileage, Thank you Ron and the gene brown crew.

I've lived in San Antonio for several years and over the years have requested automotive repair services from Gene Brown Transmissions for several owned vehicles i.e. engine, transmission, AC, etc at a reasonable and comparable costs for services. Ron and his crew diagnosed the related mechanical problems through detailed road testing & engine analysis, then suggested the best/honest course of action to correct all known mechanical issues. Moreover, he provided a means of transportation during repair time. I am so grateful to Gene Brown!! After driving in from Houston my transmission went out along with a belt and needless to say I was in a serious bind. I called around to several locations and after about the fourth one, I was ready to have a serious breakdown! That is until I spoke to the owner of Gene Brown. I was not only given the best price for a new transmission, but my vehicle was towed for free, and they even threw in a new belt and oil change for free. I really needed that!! The guys at the shop were so kind, and I was able to drive back to Houston within 4 days!!

We went to the on Grissom rd. long story short we wanted the transmission fixed and the quote was double anywhere else and who answered there argued that they just need to get pad because everyone needs to get paid and that's just for the diagnostic testing. They refused to actually fixed the problem due to the warranty people even argued the outrageous pricing. So the warranty ended up paying close to 300 just to diagnose it. When we would call the place over the weeks time we would call atleast 4 times in the morning and no answer.When we arrived to pick up the unfixed truck it was sitting near the busy road, windows down with keys in it. The passenger window was broken, coolant light was on, the side of the truck covered in fresh cement, and carpets stained in grease. I would never recommend this company to anyone we didnt know since we were just relocated here due to the military recently.
