      The Office of Legislative Research and General Counsel assists the Utah State Legislature in the development of public policies. The office promotes the understanding of critical legislative issues. It provides the legal and policy review of current law and proposed legislation procedures. The Office of Legislative Research and General Counsel coordinates in the development and management of the legislature s Web site. The office also compiles analytical and legal data pertaining to legislative and governmental issues. In addition, it examines various acts and official reports from other states. The Office of Legislative Research and General Counsel reviews final bills for accuracy and prepares the chapterization of bills passed. The office is administered by the Utah State Legislature.
