Baden-Powell and his book Scouting for Boys. It is one of the largest voluntary youth movements in the world, with a membership of more than 25 million individuals. The Boy Scouts of America serves young men and women in every part of the country through more than 300 local council service centers. Its areas of operation include fire safety, emergency preparedness, first aid, traffic safety, swimming, lifesaving mile swimming, sailing and life guarding. Through its international division, The Boy Scouts of America sponsors several programs throughout the year that include European Camp, International Camp Staff, World Brotherhood Exchange and Jamboree-on-the-Internet. It is a recipient of Silver World Award, World Conservation Award and International Scouter's Award.
