PROS:
1. Mr DeLoach was very honest and open about what we could and could not accomplish with our very uneven and root-filled yard. He helped us choose the best solution to keep our dogs in while being a fence the neighborhood would enjoy. He also gave us lots of information, including options on which way to face the fence, and which materials to choose from.
2. His quote was half what we had budgetted, even though we had told him our budget and already confidently booked him to start prior to him even giving us a quote (We needed a fence ASAP, and he was a few weeks/months out so we booked it). So he didn't try to pad the quote or anything like that!
3. They were accurate with their scheduling - which was a date set for a few weeks out. But they actually even started a day early (after calling us first of course)!
4. They allowed us to change the plans to add a new area to our fence with a call just days before they were scheduled to start.
5. The workers listened to us and explained things to us carefully whenever we had questions and concerns. They were picky about the materials they brought and rejected any wood in the piles that wasn't up to their standards.
6. The workers were conscientious about exactly where they installed the fence. On one side we wanted a foot buffer for the neighbors. On the other we wanted at least 3 inches in. They were accurate with both (except maybe around one or two trees where they had to go right on the lot line).
7. The fence posts had to be dug into roots almost the entire way. And a number of tree stumps had to be worked around. The fencers kept a great friendly attitude during the entire tedious process. It did take them one more day than they originally expected, but...
8. The resulting fence looks great. Somehow they managed to give the illusion that we have an even pretty yard with a straight wood privacy fence. I'm not sure how they did it!
Cons:
1. We decided to go with wood fencing and then fill any large gaps under the fence ourselves in uneven areas with something like stakes or chicken fencing - just to be sure the dogs didn't try to squeeze their way out. When they finished the fence, we figured out that we could just slide extra 2x6's between the post and the fence at the bottom, and let it sit down lower on the ground to fill the gaps. The con is I wish they could have suggested this, because they could have put the wood in themselves as the fence went up. I would have paid extra for that :).
We will definitely use them again!
This fence company as reasonable and great to work with. We have other contractors working at our house and DeLoatch worked with us and changed installation date several times to accommodate. The fence they installed is everything and more! It looks better than I imagined it would.
