- EczemaMolluscum are small pearly, flesh-colored skin bumps caused by a virus and are commonly found on young children. They can be itchy and the skin around the growths may develop eczema. The bumps last from 1 month to 2 years, and will eventually go away by themselves. Molluscum may be spread from person to person by direct contact. Although molluscum will eventually resolve, lesions may spread easily, become infected, or may be itchy. For these reasons, they are often treated.
- LesionsThe IPL system emits precise intense light that specifically targets brown spots and blood vessels, heating these unwanted lesions and "shocking" them into releasing their pigment. Patients have described the sensation as a "rubber band snap.” Immediately, the brown spots will darken but will slough off in a few days. Blood vessels will progressively fade with each treatment. The procedure takes about 30-45 minutes and patients leave our office with a reddened appearance, which typically resolves after a few hours.
- Chemical PeelsChemical peels are topically applied chemical solutions that gently exfoliate the surface of the skin and stimulate the growth of new skin cells. They are a quick, economical, no-downtime way to improve the appearance of superficial lines and uneven pigmentation, and make your skin look softer, smoother, and more radiant. Peels can also open clogged pores and reduce acne breakouts and acne scarring.
