- Behavioral CounselingBehavior issues are very common in our pets and can cause stress for everyone in the household. Behavior problems require both a medical diagnosis and a change in how we handle our pets and their issues (respond to?). All of our doctors are certified in Fear Free and can discuss your pet's behavioral issues. Dr. Lawler has had advanced training in behavior medicine and can provide a behavior modification plan in addition to medications.

- Heart Disease TreatmentWe have a state of the art surgery suite. We utilize board certified surgeons for all orthopedic and specialized soft tissue surgeries. All of our anesthetized patients are routinely monitored during surgery with a pulse oximetry, blood pressure monitoring, and a continuous electrocardiogram (ECG). Our patients are warmed during surgery with a re-circulating warm water blanket to maintain body temperature. Post-operative patients are closely monitored in heated cages.
- Dental SurgeryYour pet is being admitted for a Comprehensive Oral Health Assessment and Treatment (COHAT). The COHAT includes general anesthesia, whole mouth intraoral radiographs, charting, scaling, polishing, and in some cases nerve blocks and extractions. Our COHAT team involves your pets' veterinarian and registered veterinary technicians (RVTs). RVTs have completed extensive education and training as well as passed a state board exam given by the Veterinary Medical Board of California and are licensed to practice as an RVT. Our veterinarians have completed extra training (beyond veterinary school) in dentistry and oral surgery. Doctors are responsible for completing a physical exam, interpreting pre-anesthetic bloodwork, making an anesthetic plan, interpreting intraoral radiographs, and making a treatment plan which may include extractions and oral surgery. Our RVTs are tasked with anesthetic induction, charting, completing intraoral radiographs, scaling/polishing, nerve blocks and extractions. Our COHAT team's goal is to safely and efficiently improve oral health for all of our patients.

- Laboratory ServicesDouglas Blvd Veterinary Clinic offers a comprehensive K9 wellness package for dogs under the age of 7 years to help ensure that your pet stays healthy and receives the best care. When your pet is healthy, our veterinarians recommend running lab tests such as a complete blood count (CBC), and a chemistry panel. This will help establish your pet’s baseline values. Then, if your pet gets sick we will compare your pet’s current laboratory results to his previous baseline to help determine if the current values are normal.
