- Wheel AlignmentWe employ a full time mechanic to do all our collision related mechanical work. Not common at all in the body shop industry. I would say 95% of Collision shops do not have a full time mechanic. This is an advantage for Tony’s Body Shop, for we are able to do in-house things such as: Four wheel alignments, Airbag replacements, Air Conditioning Re-charges, the removal of complete dash’s to access repair work. In electric vehicles like Tesla’s we sometimes have to remove the drive axle assembly, or even the entire battery pack to be able to perform the repairs. Some cars have damage to the wheels and suspension, and this all done in-house. If we need to remove the engine for access to replace the front unibody structure of a car, we do this in-house. Replacing steering components, engine cradles, Tire and wheel installs, all done “in-house”.
- Tire ReplacementLooking to do the job right is the only true reason we have an in-house tire center. We got tired of subletting our tire replacement & balancing work out – getting back wheels that were not properly balanced, ors the tire pressure monitor’s not put back in. We invested in the best equipment available to do something simple like replace a wheel or tire when needed. By the way this tire balancer is a requirement for a lot of the higher end cars like Corvette, Mercedes, and BMW...
- Body/Collision RepairWhen involved in a collision repair, sometimes things need to be checked and measured. Vehicles are designed to collapse and absorb energy in an accident. Tony’s has invested in good structural repair & measuring equipment to return your car to pre accident condition. We are using the Car O Liner unibody equipment – well recognized in the industry as approved equipment for majority of makes and models. We have the ability to check any point on a car for length, Height & Width as compared to factory measurements. This allows us to properly repair your vehicle per original factory specifications.
- Body PaintingWe are using the Sikken’s Paint products in our refinish process. Sikken’s is considered a high-end product where quality and durability are important. What is important to us is the what ever we paint hold up equally as long as the original finish. Ever see a repaired car go “flat”, have no shine after 2 or 3 years... this can happen if the shop is using a low-grade product. Can also happen if the finished product out of the booth is not clean and doesn’t match the original texture – so the shop buffs the heck out of the finish to make it look good temporarily. Sanding and buffing the clear coat lessens the thickness of the clear and thus shortens the life – hence 2 or 3 year’s and you see this “flat look”. That is why properly trained people are important here at Tony’s Body Shop to make sure what we do is equal or better than the factory finish.
- Glass Repair/ReplacementA non certified shop possibly would not take the time to research if the glass was a reusable item or a one time use part. There are other position statements with regards to things like glass replacement, door mirror replacement, the use of used parts, etc. An Infiniti Certified Body Shop works diligently to follow these position statements. Returning the vehicle to its pre crash rating is the goal. Sometimes an insurance company may opt to push the cheapest part available. This mindset is one of cost savings only. This is where an Infiniti body shop needs to educate the insurance company with regards to what Infinity says it can and cannot do. There are also position statements with regards to performing a pre scan and post scan of the vehicle’s diagnostic unit.
