My daughters have danced at RSD for several years. I can tell you without hesitation that this studio provides the most thorough and technically precise teaching of any school in the area, hands down. Whether you seek ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap, hip hop, modern, competition classes or adult ballet, you can be confident that the training at RSD will include the attention to technique that is so important to every dancer. The teachers are all experienced professionals who have enjoyed careers in dance. We love this studio!

We moved to Rochester School of Dance over 5 years ago and we love the instruction and welcoming atmosphere! They are known for Ballet, but also have jazz, tap, hip hop, lyrical and contemporary.

Best ballet school in Michigan! RSD is great for both serious and recreational students. Teachers are professional, friendly and loving. The studio has won numerous awards at local and national competitions including best studio from YAGP. They've introduced a brand new pre professional ballet program for students seeking dance as a full time career. The program provides vast knowledge of classical technique giving the students the ability to adapt to all styles and techniques of dance. The curriculum has elements from classical styles including the Russian, American, French, and Italian schools. This studio will transform passionate students into versatile artists in an ever-changing dance world.

Overall, the staff seem pretty arrogant and unfriendly. I am a middle school teacher, so the clique-like atmosphere comically reminds me of my junior-high students. I will seek a more serious studio next year. I would suggest the director enroll new students by referral only instead of treating clientele "that don't fit" whatever profile they are looking for so dismissively.

We have been taking classes there for two years now and I cannot describe how beautiful the ballet tecnique is! No school around compares. If you want flashy, broadway type style numbers, then this is not the school for you. The school is classy and it shows.

We were disappointed with the atmosphere and moved on to find a more welcoming and balanced place to learn.
