As a field, osteopathy is a healthcare philosophy that the body is a unit and must be allowed to heal itself. We as physicians can aid in that process, but that even if left alone, the tendency is toward homeostasis and balance. Barriers to health, healing, and proper function include poor nutrition, trauma, toxins, stress, infection, and poor overall health. My approach to this natural process is to assist the structure of the body so that it may heal properly and regain its intended function. I do so by gentle hands-on treatments (OMT) but also by taking a detailed history so that we can identify and modify external influences and stressors that may be contributing to your disease process or injury. We will address the structural abnormalities with a hands-on session, but we will also work together to change habits that are contributing to your pain. We will also discuss other remedies which can help in your overall health including alternative therapies, medications, exercise programs, vitamin and nutritional regimens and complementary treatments such as physical therapy, acupuncture, and others if you are open to them. In doing so, we attack your medical, physical and emotional problems from every angle giving us the best chance for success. " style="font-size:16px">
