I often see unfavorable reviews about attorneys involved in child custody cases and can understand the volatile nature of these situations. As a grandparent, though, we rely on the competence of lawyers and the courts to protect the best interest of the child. It is my opinion that Jennifer Newman is NOT THE BEST CHOICE for this responsibility and other attorneys/GAL should be considered. I agree with other on-line reviews that she can be very condescending, rude, and abrasive. She quickly becomes annoyed and defensive when asking questions or have misunderstandings. My personal contact with her on 8/06/13 was very unpleasant. As a GAL, Ms. Newman does not screen potential Supervised Visitation designees, involve them in the process, or provide them with any type of legal guidance/information. These folks, however, can be held legally accountable so ask questions and be well informed. Working together with the courts is in the best interest of the child - find/request another person.
