- X-raysWe use the latest version of digital X-Rays that enable us to view with the highest definition and also to minimize the radiation exposure to our patients. Digital dental X-Rays are used to find dental cavities, evaluate the formation of permanent teeth, orthodontic treatment planning, diagnose bony disease and follow-up with injuries. The frequencies of X-Rays are determined based on your child’s individualized cavity risk as recommended by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD).
- Fluoride TreatmentWe truly believe that the best way to treat cavities is to PREVENT them from happening at the first place. During our appointment, we will spend a significant amount of time talking about cavity and oral injury prevention. We will discuss healthy snacks, demonstrate proper brushing and flossing techniques, athletic mouth guard usage, and infant oral health care instructions. We will also speak about what to anticipate during your child’s next growth phase. Thorough cleaning, fluoride treatment, digital X-rays, and proper referrals to other specialists, are just some of the ways that we can actively help your child maintaining the best possible oral health condition.
- Space MaintainersA baby tooth may need to get pulled pre-maturely due to various reasons. If this happens, teeth may start drifting and there may not be enough room for the future permanent teeth to come in. We offer different types of space maintainers to hold the empty space and to keep the teeth from drifting to a minimum.
- CrownsWhen teeth have cavities, we need to find a solution to manage them. There are many ways to treat dental cavities, and there are certainly no “right” or “wrong” ways of treating them. Our decisions to treat cavities are based on several factors, such as child’s cavity risk, his or her ability to cooperate, past medical and dental history, long-term prognosis of tooth, among many others. We may recommend a high fluoride interim filling, a white filling, a silver filling, a silver crown, or simply just wait and monitor the cavity’s progression. We will present and discuss all options with you during our treatment planning and consultative session.
