The Development Services Department is governed by the City of Redding in California. The department is involved in the management and coordination of engineering, building and planning services. It operates the Permit Center Division, which provides plumbing, mechanical and building permits. The Development Services Department manages the Engineering Division, which plans, develops and constructs public facilities, roadways and private development projects. The Engineering Division also offers surveys and design, construction management and traffic engineering services. The department s Building and Code Enforcement Division conducts land development project reviews and inspections. The Development Services Department additionally operates the Planning Division, which reviews and manages public and private development proposals.
