My rear defroster does not work, so we went to Midas to get it fixed. Given our work schedules and commutes, my husband and I could only get the car in on a Saturday. They told us they 'do not diagnose' on Saturdays.



A few weeks go by and we finally have a chance to drop the car off on the Friday after Thanksgiving. We get a call on Saturday evening saying that they had just figured out that the problem as something electrical. (diagnosed on a SATURDAY!) Apparently, their electrical guy only works on weekdays, so he would have to come in on Monday to fully diagnose the problem. They did not give us an estimate or anything, but we figured we needed it fixed so we told them to go ahead. We also asked for a new pair of wiper blades.



Monday rolls around, and my husband has a half day. He hasn't yet received another call from them, but figures that they've already had the car for four days, so he would check to see if they'd made any progress. They had not. They claimed replacing the part would cost $200, and that the man hours ($95 per hour) would be $500-600 more.



My husband said we would think about it and that we needed the car. They then told him they had to finish putting the car back together, and he waited for about 15 minutes. They failed to put back several panels. They also charged us $40 for the wiper blades. This has BY FAR been the worst experience we've ever had with a mechanic.
