Dishonest con-artists, very unprofessional staff!

They will tell you that you need work you do not need done, and proceed to do it. They are unprofessional. The dental assistant with curly blonde hair and a heavy country accent is very rude and told me quote" I have a chicken trap gap between my molars that she can drive a truck through". I mean WHO says that to a new client?? They told me I would have a hole between my two front teeth in a year if I didn't let them do a filling there. Thank GOD I didn't do it (they filled 2 other cavities, but wanted to do 4) when I went somewhere else they said I had NOTHING between my front teeth that needed to be worked on. GO FIGURE! They just want your money because they are a shady strip mall dentist office in Garner. Do yourself a favor and go to South Point Dentistry in Durham, or Dr. Hunt in Durham.

I love this place.

I heard about this dentist practice from a coworker.

At age 51 I have been to more dentists than I can count, but this is the first one I have recommended to friends, coworkers and family.

Actually I used to be afraid of going to the dentist ...until I came here.

I have had x-rays, several cleanings, a few filings and a crown with this practice.

I find the experience good one and for the first time I can say "enjoyable" and "dentist" in the same sentence.

It is 35 minutes from my home in Cary, and about 10-20 minutes from work in Fuquay-Varina, thus I pass several dentists on the way to this office, but it is worth the drive.

Having the HD TVs right in front of you is a big plus. I also like the comfortable dentist chairs.

I usually don't take the time to leave reviews, but after having caught the other reviews, obtaining the map for a family member, I thought I should take the time to tell you of my very positive set of experiences.

Lousy work and dishonest... beware.

Beware! Lousy work and dishonest. The first time I went here I thought Dr. Taylor and his staff were really nice. I had a few cavities, or at least that is what Dr. Taylor said. I had them filled, but within a few months I noticed a dark area where one was filled. At my next check I pointed it out and after the assistant and Dr. Taylor took a look they told me that two of the cavities he had filled (only a few months prior) had fallen out. The assistant told me that was very normal if you have a lot of "decay." He also told me I had another cavity that needed filling. I should have realized then I needed to change dentist.

In the mean time, my insurance provider changed due to my husband’s job. I called before my next appointment and spoke with the receptionist and told her what plan I had but that Dr. Taylor’s office wasn’t showing up on the list of dentist I could see – with my insurance plan. I was told that was normal, their office took my insurance even if they weren’t on the list. When I arrived at my next appointment, I spoke with the receptionist again and explained the insurance situation and that I wanted to confirm that they took my insurance. I gave them my card – but my health insurance card – which was my fault, I was confused about our new insurance plan. The receptionist told me they took it (it wasn’t even a dental card – ours had not come in the mail yet, so I thought the one card was health insurance and dental insurance – I don’t work with insurance, someone who does for a living should know the difference). I had the cavities filled again and the new one. I was told that I would need veneers in the next few years on my front teeth. (My teeth are in good condition). I knew then that I needed to switch dentist.

About a month or so later I received a bill in the mail for over $400. I called and questioned it and was told that they didn’t take my insurance. I explained that I had asked about this twice and they blamed me for the insurance mix up. How could someone who does insurance billing not catch this. I was told that they usually verify all insurance plans but somehow they slipped over mine, but it was still my fault and I had to pay. After a lot of arguing and going back and forth, including me complaining about the two fillings falling out, they agreed to discount it, but it was still over $300 (for one cavity). I couldn’t pay it at the time – My husband and I had just graduated college, so they did allow me to pay it over time. It is paid off now, but I just want others to beware of Dr. Taylor and his dirty practices and for them not make the same mistake I did.

I have since started going to another dentist, and have not had a cavity in the two years since I saw Dr. Taylor last. When I asked my new dentist if I was going to need veneers in the next few years, she told me no because my front teeth were fine. Hmm….

Best Dentist in Raleigh

I changed to Dr. Taylor about a year ago because he was filling in for my dentist for a few months. I really enjoyed his chairside manner and he was an absolute pleasure to be around. When he opened his office, I didn't think twice about changing. Dr. Taylor has an excellent staff and he personally gets to know all of his patients. I would recommend Taylor Family Dentistry to anyone.
