Founded in 1990, Lead Mine Elementary School provides educational services to more than 500 students in kindergarten through grade five. The school s academic curriculum includes language arts, math, science and social studies. It offers Title 1, accelerated reader and English as a Second Language programs. Lead Mine Elementary School provides special education to gifted and talented students. The school also offers speech, language, occupational and physical therapies to students with learning disabilities. It features a library and media center that organizes various events, including book fairs and reading sessions. In addition, the school has a parent-teacher association that conducts various fundraising activities and special programs. Located in Raleigh, N.C., Lead Mine Elementary School is a part of the Wake County Public School System, which operates several elementary, middle and high schools.
