Don't use this vet clinic since Dr.Conradi had sold her business to the new vets. They over committed to make you feel good, but they could not deliver the cares. I found out they were not really care about your beloved pets they care about $$$. There were mistakes on the paper works and the charges were way too expensive. Do not risk your pets' lives with this vet clinic.

First of all, I have no problem with the location - it's right off of 82nd, which makes it easy to get to. I've never had any problems parking there, and I've been there many times.
Secondly, Dr. Conradi and Dr. Bussa truly CARE about animals. They are warm, compassionate people who want the best for your pet. I've been to other vets who just go through the motions -- not the case at Mt. Scott. Not at all.
As for price, while we ended up spending a bundle because our beloved dog had a difficult-to-diagnose problem & expensive treatment, they did what they could to ensure that costs would be kept reasonable. Vet care is medical care, period. And good vet care will cost money, period.
Throughout our dog's illness, Dr. Conradi was open and honest. She ultimately told me with tears in her eyes when it was finally ""that time,"" accompanied the vet tech to our home, humanely euthanized our little guy at home where he'd be most comfortable, and shed tears right along with the rest of us.
My geriatric cats are now regular patients, and the Dr's are just as thorough with them. When we adopt the next dog for our family, they will be well looked after under the care of Mt. Scott Animal Clinic.

Dr. Conradi and Dr. Bussa will try to get you to get unnecessary services and test for your pet. They wanted $450 to neuter a Rabbit! Because it is an exotic?! The receptionist never even seen a rabbit come in before! I took my rabbit to Linwood where I used to go a long time ago and it only cost $150 to get our rabbit neutered. They have tried to rip off my mom when she brought her kitten in they wanted over $300 for a bunch of tests, it did include the shots but that is riduculous. She still ended up paying $158. They have harrassed me and my mom for fecal samples for our animals repeatidly over the phone. Their prices have sky rocketed they are deperate for money. Dr. Conradi said dry cat food is what made the cats fat and Bussa said the wet food made the cats fat?? Oh and also all the unnecessary staff they have hired I have noticed how they are never busy I love my animals enough to know that they don't deserve to go to a place where they don't looked at you like a dollar sign.

Dr. Conradi and staff are hands down some of the finest in the business. Vet care is not cheap, but their rates are competitive. They are compassionate, caring and truly want the best for your pet. Dr. Conradi did all she could to diagnose a difficult problem with my dog, and make his life easier with medications. She made a difficult decision easier for me by relaying her own personal story, made a house call with her skilled technician, and when my sweet dog's life ended they were nothing but respectful, kind and supportive. I will continue to use this vet as long as I reside in the Portland area, without question.

I love this clinic. The doctors and staff are awesome. They have 2 cats that live at the clinic. I stop by sometimes just to visit with their one-eyed cat named Squishy. Dr. Bob is really great with my timid aussie, who is typically afraid of men. He spent time on the floor letting my dog get to know him in the exam room which is why i've switched to their clinic for all of my pets. Caring dr's are hard to find these days.

I totally disagree with the other review. I have been taking my two dogs and two cats to this clinic for three years and have always had wonderful and compassionate expierences. Both Dr. Conradi and Dr. Bussa as well as the staff are very friendly and always remember me and ask about all my pets. They do not "upsell" their services and always try to cut me a break when they can. Lets face it, vets are expensive but your dollar will not be wasted here.

I read the other review on this website and I wanted to put out there that both the doctors at Mt Scott are awesome. Dr. Barry was very old school and made horrible business decisions, hence why he had to file bankruptcy and sold the clinic. I've been taking my pets to this clinic for almost two years not and am always impressed with the kindness and caring from all the staff. If you are worried about price, ask for an estimate. They are alot cheaper and more willing to work with you than the other vets i've been to in the area. 2 thumbs up!

It was very disappointing when my old Bulldog needed immediate Vet care and I was refused by my personal Vet due to lack of finances. I have already paid well over $6,000.00 since first using this Vet 4 years ago. This has been very disconcerting to me, much more importantly to my dog! I will NOT be using this Vet ever again. This is her practice, and she should make certain allowances to long standing clients when it is an emergency. In fact, she has her inexperienced Vet assistants to carry out her orders, when she should be addressing them herself.

This has got to be the worst veterinarian in the city of Portland! Dr Berry sold the practice and the new owner is obviously impressed with herself and its a good thing because no one else is! Her prices are outrageous, her people skills are non-existent and I would hate to think of how she treats her patient when the owners are not there!###If you want the quality care you were use to with Dr. Barry, you will be disappointed. My suggestion, find someone, anyone else, and by the way, Dr Barry did not retire he just moved to Gresham!

I was unsure of where I wanted to take my pets. The clinics I was familiar with and leaned towards were too expensive for me. The ones that I COULD afford were shady and some of my pets had a different personality after a surgery there. Then, in an emergency, one of my cats was taken to Mt. Scott Animal Clinic!!! What a blessing! They treated him SO WELL and made the treatment affordable by working with me. The veteranarians are super knowledgeable and love animals and their main focus is on the health and welfare of the animal - who could ask for more??? ALL of my pets will go to Mt. Scott now!!!

I have been going to MSAC for about a year now. The staff is excellent - from the office staff to the vets. Everyone is friendly and helpful, the vet staff is compassionate, knowledgeable and have a good repoire with animals. Even my scaredy-cat hound dog seemed fairly relaxed when I took him there.
On the financial side, they are very reasonable - not cheap but not what I would call expensive either.
Some have mentioned the neighborhood (Lents area - though I don't find it to be such a sketchy place) as a con, but as it's only a mile from my house it's a big plus for me! Plus, I'm sure the location allows them to keep their fees a little lower than what they might be if they were located in a more ""desirable"" neighborhood.

We moved to Portland in June and got a puppy in July. We also have a 2-year-old dog. We chose Mt. Scott because of their ""puppy package"" that provides all the necessary puppy services for a reasonable package price. I have been very pleased with everyone I have encountered. They are caring, thorough and friendly. They have been able to fit us in for appointments within a day or two of calling in. Our puppy was almost unaffected by his surgery. Both veterinarians are good with animals and people. I definitely recommend them!

I just recenlty boarded my pet there. I have never been in before that gave me all information I needed over the phone, the person(Amy I spoke with was very polite and knowledgable. My dog does have a few health problems and gets verty stressed when she has to board. I got a call 2 days after baording her and they wanted to let me know she did not eat yesterday and was seeming very scared and uneasy, they let me know that they took her out of her baording environment and have mover her to a ""Master suite""``They allowed her to eat her meals hand fed cuddling with the staff, she would spemd the day timearound all the staff getting extra love and attention. And at night in a very quite area with soft tunes playing on a radio. When I got back she wasn;t the sad stressed girl I brought in she was bounding around and clean they had just bathed and gave her the works. I was very pleased with my experience and highly recommend the DR's and staff.

I came to Mt. Scott Animal Clinic from Woodstock VCA Animal Hospital, with my dog, Daisy, a new rescue. When I adopted Daisy a month or so ago, the first night home she was peeing red. After two visits to Woodstock vet and some exorbitant vet bills, I discovered she had four bladder stones and a UTI. Woodstock proposed that they would do the surgery for $1200--not including anesthesia, post-op dietary needs, medicines...just the surgery. I called Mt. Scott and they said the surgery, including all complementary fees would be between $700-850. When I brought Daisy in to meet Dr. Conradi, the doctor was extremely compassionate and answered all of my questions. I was working with Corgi Aid, a non-profit, who would pay most of the vet bill, and when I explained this to Dr. Conradi, she didn't say, ""Ok. We'll wait for the check then schedule the surgery."" She knew that Daisy was in extreme pain and was adamant that we schedule the surgery ASAP. As a vet, Dr. Conradi is simply amazing. She's caring, understanding and really flexible. I never felt unsure of what she was talking about, or unsure of what the cost of Daisy's care would be. She made sure to explain how we could make the surgery as affordable as possible. I would highly recommend this animal hospital to anyone.

I was referred to this clinic by a friend. My cat was having problems. They got me in right away, served me coffee and refreshments, spent time getting to know myself and my pet. I recommend going to their clinic any day of the week, the staff truely cares about their clients and their pets.

I was referred to this clinic by a friend and was greatly pleased with the customer service I received. The clinic has a bright atmosphere and all the staff I met was friendly and caring. My pet had been elsewhere for an undiagnosed condition that he has been struggling with for some time. Dr. Conradi immediately recognized the signs of the illness and accurately diagnosed my pet. My pet is doing great. I will be taking all of my pets to this clinic and would highly recommend it to others.

Go though to many people very rude Tech Linda big mouth and mean to pets they try to charge you for things that are not even wrong and they lie about there boarding. They say they care but they fired the only people who really cared about the animals. They have gave my pet the wrong meds and she almost died.
