We have been going to this clinic for over 20 years- They are awesome. Through every stage of our animals care they have been there. We cannot thank them enough and have found no better. Thank you Westchester staff and Doctors!

We have been seeing Doctor Reed for at least 14 years. He has always been wonderful with our fur babies. His techs on the other hand are rude and hateful. I was so upset the last time I left that I was shaking. At the moment he has a tech in there that has no business in that profession . She actually argued with me about the procedure of bring 2 dogs in. We always leave one in car and bring one in. Then rotate after seeing the doctor. She told me I would have to wait for the second one sense I will be leaving the room. Really 14 years never had to do that. She said they have always done it that way. Well funny in 14 yrs never saw her. Then it was his daughter that came in to do the shots. I asked if I could see Larry Reed. The Tech got all bothered and told me no. Which ever doc gets the file is the one I get. Again I know this not to be true. Needless to say I left with out my second dog seeing the doc who is sick and I am still steaming. Not really sure if we will return to Reed.

My mother and I have been clients of Dr Reed for several years and they were decent till recently. We had adopted one of Dr Reeds potcake dogs the most loveable animal we have ever had last year we found out he had diabetes so we started insulin as we were told. A year later we findout he's having renal failure after we call up the vets office and were told to starve a diabetic dog till they reopened Monday and this was on saturday. Well unfortunately he didn't make it we had to bring him to pnc in Westville found out a lot about our loving potcake we were never told but it was way to late we had to put him to sleep...so I will never return to this office for their services again nor will I ever tell someone to take there beloved pet there take ur pet to someone who hires people who care and cares himself..

The front desk staff is terribly rude. I signed in and waited fir the 4 ladies sitting at the desk toaacknowledge me. They all saw me. I finally said excuse me how long is the wait. They sighed and said "will call you when we're ready." I feel like their customer service training was modeled after the "soup Nazi" on Seinfeld.

Dr. Reed is excellent. But I don't think he knows how rude some of his staff are. And this is my experience over 10 years. Some of the staff like the actual hands on people are wonderful. It's the rude , uncompassionate, b@&8hies behind the counter that r the problem.

Dr Reed has taken care of all my pets from my dogs to my birds and reptile's I could not ask for a better vet ty for all ways being there

Dr.Reed is an amazing and caring vet!!I take all my birds to him-he treated my duck many times.He was compassionate and wasn't in a big rush.I was forced to take my bird to another clinic when he was on vacation and it was way over priced!!Dr.Reed doesn't overcharge..The staff has always been very efficient and polite..

The front desk lady is rude and heartless!!! Hand my sisters cat to her in a plastic bag in the waiting room. They killed her cat!!! Beware!

DO NOT GO THERE!!!! They are HORRIBLE!! Our 2 1/2 yr old dog passed away and we took her there at 7:30am we had to sit in the car with her till 8 until they opened! Then they finally take her from us and told us they would cremate her for us and we'd get her back in a nice box. So a couple weeks pass and no call, so I called them and they tell me that they group cremated her and we won't get her back! WHAT?! I said who signed that paper work cause I didn't?! She said it was over the phone!! I said WHAT! We were there in your office!! So how was it over the phone when we were there!?! She said she didn't know! I asked for the owner or highest person to call me 3x and no one has called me back. They will NEVER EVER get our business and I HOPE they DON'T get YOURS!

Dr. Reed and everyone at Westchester Animal Clinic are wonderful. My puppy was just neutered there and he did great!! They were kind and called me to tell me how he was doing. Sometimes there is a wait in the office or on the phone but that is because they never rush their customers. The whole staff genuinely love animals and it shows!! I highly recommend WAC!!

I am very pleased with the care my dogs have received. My dog passed away in August and the whole staff was so kind. The doctor even sent us a small keepsake plaque with a nice verse and our dog's name on it. The prices are very reasonable, no visit charges if you get vaccines. I don't think its fair to expect a discount just because you're having hard times. His prices are already the lowest I've ever seen at a vet, and he has to collect money in order to stay in business. I'm sure lots of people could ask for that, and there's no way they can afford to do that for everyone. He has given excellent care to our new puppy, and never do they try to rip us off. Always very nice and reasonable.

That is so terrible that they did that to you!!! Them poor dogs of yours. Honestly, I probably would have acted the same way!!! I took my cat in for a nuetering operation and it was supposed to be free, because I adopted him from the Porter County Animal Shelter. And they charged me anyway. Well I confronted them about it so they did give me a credit which was fine, but they treated him ear mites without telling me. But they did not treat him for his wheezing coughs and sneezes when I specifically asked them to do so. So I had to take him all the way back there for a check up and to pick up more medicine. Well just yesterday I had to get more medicine because he is still very sick. But I told them I could afford another check up at the time that I just needed the medicine and the girl was kind of snippy. She told mat I can just pick up the medicine only once and if it still not better, then he has to have a check up. If that is the case I'm going back to Arbor View in Valparaiso. they always have told what they were going to do before they did it, because they understood that everyone is going through hard times. I'm sorry that you went through all that crap.

Dr Reed is amazing; he is kind to all my pets and even to us their owners. He takes his time and thoroughly checks them out and also doesnt mind all my questions. I love my pets they are treated as family and I take really good care of them just like my kids



The Staff is sometimes not as friendly or helpful but Im only with them for a short time - its the doctors care that I am basing this review on.



If you are in need of a vet I highly recommend Dr. Reed.

I had 3 dogs that i used to take to this clinic. There was a time that I was out of work and asked for a discount because i needed some hearworm preventative. The girls in the the clinic said they couldn't give me a break. I was upset and said that dr.Reed must not care about animals if he would allow money to stop him from helping me. Because of that statement which involved not vulgar language; they have banned me from their clinic. Since then, I have given the care of my dogs up to my girl friend. She has called them to see if she could bring them in for care and they have said no, and that it doesn't matter who owns the dogs now; they still aren't welcome. I believe this is unethical. They have taken out their frustration on the animals. I'm not even sure if this decision was made by Dr. Reed; since they wouldn't ever let me speak to him after that. I would think that this would be illegal to refuse care to someone else that owns the dogs just because they were upset with a previous owner. I wouldn't recommend this clinic to anyone.

Dr Reed is an amazing Vet, He has saved the lives of many beloved pets and wild animals as well. Truly one of the few people left that treats from the heart, and nobody knows more about exotic animals than he does. He will forever be our Vet. The staff is wonderful and caring as well.

Dr. Reed is wonderful and caring. I have been taking my pets there for years. The staff is very kind as well. He cares about animals and takes time to explain wha ever you need to know. I will never take my pets anywhere but to him.

These people are fantasic!!! They helped me out in a Great time of need, my dog was hit by a car and in alot of pain. Unfortunatly It happened on a Sunday so I had to take him to Michigan City hospital which stablized him and kept him one night. I had to pick him up the next day and pay in full for there services, over 1300.00 needless to say that cleaned my bank out. I was told to take him to my vet for them to keep a couple of days because he was still pretty bad. I called my vet in Hobart and explained what happened and that I wouldn't be able to pay until my next pay. Hobart sent me away and said they needed payment up front. I have been taking my pets to this Hobart vet for 20 years! They said I had a bill go to collections in 1992 so they needed payment up front. ARE YOU KIDDING ME.........1992!!!!! (my husband was laid off work at this time) anyway...I called Westchester Animal Clinic and the vet said bring him in I will give you 1 month to pay the bill. I was soooooo grateful. My dog was there for 2 days and when I went to pick him up the bill was 145.00. Can you believe it ! A Vet thats not all about the money he actually cares about Animals!!!!!! Oh by the way I gladly paid that bill up front.
