Founded in 1929, Central Elementary School provides academic services to more than 400 students in grades three through five. It conducts classes in reading, writing, computer application, math, physical education, music and art. The school provides Title 1 and special education programs for gifted and talented students. It operates a parent-teacher organization that serves as a resource for students, parents and staff. The school additionally maintains a library that provides curriculum-related materials and a variety of leisure reading options for students. It offers breakfast and lunch for its students. The school also provides transportation and counseling services. It is a part of the Central Independent School District, which governs several elementary, middle and high schools.
