Rising Star Elementary is a public institution that has an annual enrollment of more than 100 students in kindergarten. The school organizes a variety of events, including Patriot Day, literacy night, fall parties, children s book week and parent-teacher conferences. Its parent-teacher association encourages the participation of parents in school activities. Rising Star Elementary conducts classes in speech, art, music, reading, and health and physical education. It is a part of Platte County R-3 School District, which serves more than 3,000 students and operates over five elementary, middle and high schools. Rising Star Elementary is located in Platte City, Mo.
