The Art of Podiatric Surgery -- The Science of Fitness Mark Reed, DPM has some of the most impressive podiatry credentials of any foot and ankle surgeon within North Orange County. Dr. Reed attended podiatry medical school at University of Southern California (USC) and completed foot and ankle surgical residency at University of San Francisco (UCSF) and at the Veteran’s Medical Center San Francisco. Dr. Reed completed a surgical rotation at the Hadassah University Hospital in Jerusalem Israel. Dr. Reed has lectured internationally on biomechanics and has an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology and exercise physiology. Dr. Reed is a NCAA Collegiate All American in Water Polo and has been on Master Swim teams and Water polo teams since graduating from podiatry medical school. Dr. Reed has served as a consultant for a number of professional teams and for years was the Biomechanics consultant for the Velo Avanti Racing Cycling Team and has been a team doctor for many local high school football teams. Dr. Reed is a meticulous, innovative, talented surgeon who achieves extraordinary results while minimizing post-operative pain using special techniques that Dr. Reed has invented and incorporated into his surgical techniques to reduce swelling, pain and the time for a patient to recover that has evolved over more than 25 years of surgical experience. Dr. Reed has been a National lecturer for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals on post-operative pain management. Dr. Reed is certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association.
