      At Eibara Aikido we teach a gentle Yet powerful form of Aikido. Aikido was created in Japan by Morihei Ueshiba in the 1940's. It utilizes principles of "Least Effort, Maximum Effect to neutralize an attacker with least harm possible to all involved. Aikido therefore is known as the "Art of Peace" and unlike other martial arts is not reliant on strength or speed of the practitioner. In training every one practices cooperatively and at a pace consistent with each person's abilities.
