- Intellectual PropertyPittsburgh, 6/3/1999 - On May 7, Hull McGuire hosted a two-hour seminar for twelve Ukrainian business professionals on corporate legal practice in the United States as part of the U.S. Information Agency's "Community Connections" program sponsored by the U.S. State Department and the Pittsburgh Council for International Visitors (PCIV). The Ukrainians were from the city of Donets'k, Ukraine, which is expected soon to be designated as a sister city to Pittsburgh. The discussion, led by shareholder Dan Hull, focused primarily on intellectual property protection and product counterfeiting issues arising in the Ukraine's Donets'k Region. The city of Donets'k is the administrative, industrial, scientific and cultural center of the Donets'k Region, which has a population of 5.3 million. Ukrainians comprise 50% of the region's population and Russians comprise 44%. The Hull McGuire seminar was arranged through the PCIV.
