General Info
Dr. Carosso has more than 35 years of experience as a Clinical Child Psychologist and Certified School Psychologist. He is Clinical Director of Community Psychiatric Centers and operates both the Autism Center of Pittsburgh and the Dyslexia Diagnostic and Treatment Center. In that respect, Dr. Carosso has dedicated his career to helping children, and empowering parents in becoming confident and capable in meeting their children's needs. Dr. Carosso also holds a Graduate Certificate in Applied Behavioral Analysis in Special Education, and has conducted more than 20,000 evaluations on children with autism, attention-deficit, trauma, depression, bipolar, anxiety, behavioral issues, obsessive compulsive disorder, and reading difficulties. He has supervised dozens of clinical treatment teams and regularly provides consultation to practitioners on his team, and fellow professionals. Dr. Carosso also has presented at regional conferences, served on the advisory boards of local autism societies, and serves as an expert witness in child welfare cases. In his ongoing pursuit of informing and empowering parents, Dr. Carosso produces the video series, "Dr. C's Morning Minute," that provides helpful strategies for parents to effectively manage childhood ADHD, autism, and behavioral, emotional and learning issues. He also formerly co-hosted the weekly PCNC cable television program "Community Psychiatric Centers Presents", targeting child mental health issues, and was a regular guest on various talk shows, including "Night Talk", discussing childhood issues and related current events. He is also a regular contributor to local newspapers and magazines regarding childhood issues.
