- Beth El, established in 1919, is a Jewish congregation based in Pittsburgh, Pa. It has more than 400 member families and offers programs and services for men, women, youth and children. The United Synagogue Youth features religious, social, educational and social action programs for Jewish youths in grades nine through 12. USY also includes citywide programs including dances and sports participation activities that offer teenagers opportunities to interact with Jewish youth in the Pittsburgh area. Kadima is open to all children in grades six through eight and provides programs similar to that of USY. Beth El also offers adult education, bingo nights, trips to Israel, Torah weekends, Shabbats and sisterhood events.
