Excellent sushi, great service and my daughter loves the hibachi.
Not only am I a strong critic of fresh fish but an all around picky person when it comes to eating out. Too many horrifying personal experiences has left me very selective as to where and what I consume outside the comfort of my home. So when I experienced my first meal at Liki, I was left amazingly satisfied and an overwhelming desire to return to the friendly atmosphere and remarkably fresh sushi. Each time I revisit this charming Japanese restaurant, I try something different to encounter the incredible flavor this modest place has to offer. For the land lover, they offer an appealing chicken and/or steak hibachi cooked to perfection either family style for the group or as a personal dish. They have a wide selection of delectable veggie meals and my personal favorite, the most exquisite selection of fish I?ve had in years. This astounding little sushi secret is a BYOB and for the large quantity of food you receive; reasonably priced. I?m not only saying this due to the fact that this is the only Japanese/sushi restaurant in the area because right outside of Phoenixville, King of Prussia has over 7 different Asian fusion-Japanese sushi restaurants. All of which I?ve ?experienced? and none of which come close to the quality Liki has to offer.
I highly recommend Liki to the novice sushi lover and to the more experienced looking for great fish, flavor and food fascination.
there will be a liki sushi (2) openning soon in long island newyork. but im guessing thats too far away from phoenixville. The good thing is if your ever visiting long island and you want to eat sushi, you can always go there. im not sure exactly what the address is, but as soon as i find out, i'll definitly be more than happy to post it up. and in my opinion, i dont think its the waitress's fault that they cant understand or speak englihs fluently, i mean, its not like they spoken english for a long time. all i have to say is ""great sushi"".
My wife and I decided to try LIKI on a Sunday afternoon. The service was ok but the meals we mediocre at best., the Menu Descriptions were not very good. My wife ordered something with shrimp in it and was supprised when it was fried. Two Meal and no Drinks over $50. Not worth it. We will never eat there again.
To the person who complained about their service it is most likely you were ignorant towards their lack of English speaking ability. Probably a bad tipper as well. I have never had a bad experience at Liki. They are always friendly and the owner makes me feel at home whenever I walk in the door. An example of how good a man Liki is... I brought my cousin in about 6 months ago and introduced him to Liki. We go back there about a week ago and Liki remembers his name. The man knows how to take care of people The sushi is of good quality and beats the heck out of lotus inn in KOP. On a Friday or Saturday night they are busy but if you go in there for lunch during the week you get great lunch specials and evening time you rarely have to wait. Go int here with an open mind and dont act like a typical Phoenixville bone head and you should be fine.
The BEST sushi East of Maui !!
The food is outstanding the owner is gracious and friendly and the whole experience makes me wish I could go more often . I have been a frequent guest since they opened . They always make me feel at home even better like a special guest . Ricky is always sampling new things for us to expand our pallet and more ofte n then not the things he gives us to try are fantastic . plus you can bring your own booze and beer if you want and if you pick a weeknight other then Friday you wont be waiting too long .
Liki Rocks !!!!
While part of me believes I should just keep my mouth shut and hope that hordes stay away from Liki so I can always get a table when I want one, I just can't. My husband and I have visited Liki since shortly after it opened, often weekly when we could, and have ***never*** had a bad meal. And I, for one, am pretty picky. One taste of a ""fishy"" piece of sushi or sashimi and I'm finished and I won't go back. That has never happened at Liki. We frequently dine with friends and there has never been a dish sent back or a complaint. Yes, we've sometimes waited and it has always been worth the wait.
We've scheduled business dinners there with parties of up to 23 and even those who avoid ""bait"" enjoyed their meals. You can tell by the number of 'regulars' that visit, they enjoy their experience as well. I have been to several Japanese Restaurants and have not had the quality, friendly service, or attention to detail that I see every time at Liki. The staff is welcoming and I always remember they are not native English speakers. There is an Asian reserve that I find charming and you won't be glad-handed or fussed over. It's BYOB and a wonderful place to linger over a glass, enjoy the company of the person you are with, and prepare yourself for a wonderful, fresh, beautifully presented dish each and every time.
Or don't go. I like to be surrounded by people who appreciate quality and enjoy the experience of dining.
Just because it's the only Japanese Restaurant in Phoenixville does NOT mean it's good. Trust me, it isn't. The food / sushi is just OK. The service is horrible and it's always crowded because, well, it's the only Japanese restaurant in Phoenixville.
We've had the same waitress all three times I've been there and she is always rude to us. You'll know her because she's the only one with a sour-puss on her face. She never lets us finish ordering because she walks away in the middle of what we're saying. Every time! We've even asked to be seated somewhere else but they still seat us in her section.
Last night we were there, it took her 45 minutes to bring us three cups of green tea and a bowl of edamame. Two tables near us were seated 30 minutes after us and they got their food order before we got our tea and appetizer. We tried to get her attention and ask for the tea because we thoguht she forgot and she kept ignoring us. The whole dining experience was us being ignored and waiting too long for our orders. We were there three hours because she ignored us the whole night. We would have just asked for the check and left after the edamame but we couldn't get her attention to bring the check. Finally my mother complained to the manager / owner and it seemed he sincerely apologized but did not take anything off the bill...not even the tea. I guess he wasn't that sorry after all.
If you're looking for good Japanese, please look elsewhere. There are many good Japanese restaurants in King of Prussia, with great service, which is a short 10 minute drive.
The sushi was average. The portion size was really small. The value for what you get is poor.
Sushi chef and staff very nice. Selection was few and far between.
