In Dec 2010 I bought a pair of prescription glasses in AZ from Paris Optique for $608. They measured my face and used my own glasses to obtain the prescription. They shipped them to me in Dallas and the glasses were unusable. My optometrist reviewed them and determined the prescription was correct but the measurement was wrong. Paris Optique replaced them with a new pair but they were still unusable. I went back to doctor and she placed red dots on the lenses where my pupils were supposed to line up. The right eye was correct, but the left eye was way off. I wrote Paris Optique and called to explain but they never responded. I offered to keep the frames and send back the lenses but I received a voicemail from the owner, Fanny, stating their "no refund" policy. I understand these are custom lenses and I would never try to return them if I just changed my mind, but the policy implies the glasses will work. I don't understand why this company is not standing behind their product. I have faxed a letter from my doctor explaining the errors in their measurement and the quality of the lenses. I have attempted to send them back to her (she refused acceptance). I even went to Costco for a second opinion and they said they always measure each eye individually to account for an asymetrical face. She skipped this step. I'm not a doctor, I just know these glasses don't work and I am dealing with an unethical business owner. I am at a loss.

Business Response05/23/2011

Paris Optique never sold prescription eyewear to Mrs. H, Paris Optique sold eyewear to her husband only and Mrs. H is the only person complaining about the glasses. We made a change to the prescription as the Dr. requested, and Mrs. H said her husband was still having difficulties. Fanny called the doctor office in Plano, TX and left several messages but the Dr. never returned the phone call. Paris Optique only fills the prescription, which was filled flawlessly and cannot be changed without a Doctors new RX. We will happily redo the glasses of client (which we already did once), upon the response of the optomertrist. We take pride in our business. However, the only solution for this customer was a complete refund which goes strictly against our store policy as we do not allow for frames to be bounced around. Unfortunately, without the cooperation of the customer and Dr. there is little that can be done. Did Costco see Mr. H? Would Mrs. H have the Costco optician call Paris Optique's team? It is necessary for issues to be resolved through discussion of the Doctors and opticians, for the benefit of the client. We understand this, and we are happy to solve this issue, however the only solution on our behalf would need the communication that has been lacking from Plano doctors and opticians.
