Operational for more than 32 years, Wooden Shoe Books has provided the local community in Philadelphia with access to literature. Based in Philadelphia, Pa., the firm specializes in various categories of books, such as social justice, radical theory, culture, anarchism and related ideologies. Wooden Shoe Books also serves as a place for authors, musicians and activists to present their work on several issues. The all-volunteer democratic collective specializes in anarchist and radical literature. It offers the local community with radical and non-traditional sources of written, digital and spoken information. It acts as a resource for activism, art, self-education, dialogue, community-building and anti-capitalism.
