Two years ago, I inquired at Fante's, "Where's a good place to get pastry?" He said, without hesitation, "Isgro's the best". I am pretty picky, but he was right!. Once I walked in, the wonderful smells brought me right back to childhood memories of my late grandmother's kitchen. I bought some assorted items and happily, everything tasted as good as it looked! I even wanted to try things I don't normally like. My husband raved that the strawberry shortcake and hot cross buns reminded him of the ones he used to get as a child in England. My dad and I love the italian pastries too. My dad (who doesnt eat a lot of sweets) loves the baba, and the cookies are tender and flavorful. I gave up on buying italian cookies as they are usually dry and taste stale. Thank you Fante's for being a good neighbor and thank you Isgro for remembering to put quality and tradition first!

I would usually order my cakes from Denise's or Tiffany's bakery and I settled for what the had to offer mainly because of the prices. However, for the very special occasion in my famiys lives my mother requested that I should look Isgro's up because that is were she purchased her wedding cake. I wasn't to sure if the bakery was still open because my parents were married over 40years ago. Hey, I'm a witness that the old saying is still true, mother's knows best. My son doesn't care for pastry at all but you know what; he loved it and so did all of my guest. The quality was excellent, the cake tasted as good a week later as it did when we cut the first slice. I'm so glad I listened to my mother and I'm even happier that Isgro is still around so that I and my family may experience there service and the quality pastries that the have to offer.

I work for Verizon and we have a birthday club . Each individual has his/her choice of cake when it's their birthday. One co-worker chose Stawberry Short Cake, and I suggested Isgro's. I live in South Philly , born and raised . We're such a small community, so to speak in the way of many choices as far as eating, shopping, etc. However Isgro's is always my choice for both excellent service , taste, and quality !!!!!!!
