General Info: Dr. Gus Perez is a neurosurgeon with Ascension Medical Group Sacred Heart. He provides specialized neurosurgical care to adults and children with acquired anomalies of the nervous system including traumatic brain injury, brain and spinal tumors, hydrocephalus, spasticity, as well as congenital anomalies of the brain, skull, spine and spinal cord. Dr. Perez has a special interest in advanced imaging techniques in adult and pediatric brain tumors; novel surgical visualization in adult and pediatric brain tumors, novel techniques and therapies in epilepsy. He strives to provide a care experience that encompasses understanding, support, respect, dual decision-making, and transparency for his patients and their families. He received his medical degree at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, and completed his residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Miss., followed by a fellowship at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital/Stanford Children's Health in Palo Alto, Calif.
