- Electrical Muscle StimulationElectrical Muscle Stimulation often referred to as "muscle stim.", the therapy involves low levels of electrical impulses delivered to the injured, painful tissues to reduce pain and speed healing. Often described by patients as a pleasant, "tingling" sensation, or "electrical massage," these impulses stimulate the body to release natural pain relievers, called endorphins. These endorphins reduce pain and inflammation, thereby promoting faster healing of the injured tissues. This therapy is often used to treat acute or chronic pain, as well as strains or sprains of the muscles, joints, and soft tissues of the spine and extremities
- Chiropractic AdjustmentsWhen spinal joint dysfunction occurs, a chiropractor can restore spinal alignment and function through spinal manipulation in addition to other corrective techniques. This procedure is appropriately called an adjustment, and the adjustment enables the body to heal. The chiropractic adjustment is a quick thrust applied to a vertebra for the purpose of correcting its position, movement or both. Adjustments are often accompanied by an audible release of gas that sounds like a “pop.” On rare occasions, muscle soreness might occur, as range of motion is restored. A patient will be given a treatment plan designed specifically to correct their condition. A course of treatment may last from approximately five treatments to thirty treatments for their condition. Spinal manipulations may be used in conjunction with therapeutic modalities, stretching/strengthening exercises or massage therapy for maximum health benefit.
- Intersegmental TractionIntersegmental traction tables gently help re-establish the normal ranges of the body's spine. Intersegmental traction tables also help facilitate muscle relaxation and reduce muscle spasms. Intersegmental traction tables mobilize the spinal column while simultaneously and gently stretching ligaments and muscles. In addition, Intersegmental traction tables increase blood flow and oxygen to discs, ligaments, and muscles, thereby improving balance, strength, and mobility.

- SubluxationA research study conducted by Drs. Anthony Lauro and Brian Mouch, published in the journal of Chiropractic research and Clinical Investigation, 1991, indicated chiropractic care might improve athletic performance by as much as 16.7% over a two week period. The report also concluded that subluxation-free athletes react faster, coordinate better, execute fine movements with improved accuracy and precision, amounting to an overall better athlete.
- Manipulation TherapyOur massage therapists concentrate on painful and symptomatic areas as they treat the deeper component of your musculature, thus increasing the body’s rehabilitative abilities. Massage Therapy is often used in preparation for a spinal manipulation/adjustment. Massage relieves muscle tension and warms the soft tissues in the area, making joints more pliable and more receptive to the adjustment.
- Spinal DecompressionAfter the Report of Findings, your treatment may include spinal manipulation, therapeutic modalities, or decompression therapy. Each patient's condition is unique to him or her and all treatments are tailored to an individual's needs and how they respond.
- Therapeutic ExerciseThe primary treatment of the Doctor of Chiropractic is manipulation also known as an "adjustment" to those areas of the spine or surrounding joints which are slightly displaced and fail to function normally. Given by hand (the word chiropractic means "done by hand"), the adjustment will restore proper alignment and function to the spinal joints, thereby restoring the normal nerve transmission and healing potential to the vital structures of the body. Therapeutic exercise, massage, and nutritional support are part of patient care when appropriate. Injuries like sprains (ankle, shoulder), strains (eg. pulled muscles), tendonitis (eg. tennis elbow) and bursitis (eg. shoulder pain) and joint problems in the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, hip, knee, ankle, and foot can all be treated effectively with chiropractic care. These are all good reasons to seek chiropractic care. Maintaining proper alignment will allow athletes to be prepared for their sport. Many of the greatest athletes in the world are adjusted before competition as a "tune-up" in an effort to place their bodies in a state of peak efficiency. Following competition, they are adjusted to enhance the recuperative process after the stress of their particular event. When asked about chiropractic's effectiveness, Roger Craig, formerly of the San Francisco 49'ers, stated, "We won four Super Bowls in the 1980's with it, so it must be doing something right!"
- Flexion Distraction TherapyWe are dedicated to providing individualized treatment to all our patients. Our adjusting methods include Gonstead Technique, Thompson Table, Flexion-Distraction, Instrument Adjusting, Extremity and Diversified Methods.
