Located in Peabody, Mass., Police Chief s Office provides law enforcement services and is operated by Peabody Police Department, which has more than 100 police officers, over 30 reserve officers and nearly 10 civilian dispatchers. Peabody Police Department prevents crime, preserves order and protects the rights, lives and properties of people. It also works with the community to identify and respond to the ever-changing social and neighborhood problems. The department s special services division coordinates all police details at parades, elections and other special functions, and works closely with several city agencies, including the Governor's Highway Safety Bureau and the Department of Public Works Signage. Peabody Police Department also operates a criminal investigation division that handles domestic assaults, rape and sex crimes, frauds and drug-related cases.
